SpaceTracer Prequel
A downloadable game
A major python-turtle project I was working on.
I was 18 years old at the time, and I wanted to make a game with the resources I have. The game technically has an ending, but I don't consider it finished. Level 0 contains what's supports to be the final boss, but I lost interest in the project. I had a lot of new ideals I wanted to add, but the game was program was Horrible, So all I could do was finish what I started.
But hey, I went pretty far for 18.
The real "Space Tracer" I'm making is a sequel to this game. I plan to release a demo to it later this month, if possible. So check back in about a month to try that one out.
HOW TO PLAY:
WASD:
W - shoot
A D - move
S - Flicker
S S - Bomb
Q - shield down
E - pause
Number Keys (Num Lock On) (Best Method for large computers):
8 - shoot
4 6 - move
5 - flicker
5 5 - bomb
7 - shield down
9 - pause
Arrow Keys:
Up - shoot
Left Right - move
Down - flicker
Slash - shield down
0 - pause
Aim your weapon, and shoot the enemies for points, and when you get hit, you shield goes down, like any other shooting game. However, if you lose your shield, You do not crash. Instead, If you survive long enough, your shield will regenerate. You can also break the shield to allow it to regenerate faster.
You can also flicker you shield, making you immune to damage from all enemies. However, you have reactivate it when it runs out. You can also activate bombs when the shield is flickering. All ships can be effected by it, but other enemies (such as basher) are immune. You must have a flicker to activate the bomb.
The Giant blue number on the top-right of the screen is your quota. It must be 100 for you to go on to the next level. Otherwise the level will loop back to the beginning. You get one bomb if you reach a quota of 50, one ship at 100, and two ships at 150!
You have 10 minutes to be the level. If you run out of lives, you must start the entire level from the beginning. If you lose a life after the timer ends, the game ends.
The instructions maybe confusing the first read. Just play the game and comeback here and everything will make more since.
Maybe if this gets popular, I'll consider finishing the game.
Why is it called "SpaceTracer?"
In my head, the ship can go so fast, it produces a beam of light "tracing" the sky.
But in reality, this was because of the python turtle function tracer(), which allowed me to create this game.
Like Jupiter and Saturn, Your home planet (not earth) just crossed with the planet of flying saucers. They stole your factory, and they're using to create robotic enemies. But luckily, no robot is smart enough to control the extreme speeds of the Tracer, a transportation ship. We took all the tracers we can find, and place a basic shield & gun to the ship.
You have to journey from space to the enemy planet and reach the center before your planet gets destroyed.
